We are never ever ever ever getting back together

Here is Monday's Music Pick: Taylor Swift's
"We are never ever ever ever getting back together"

I remember when we broke up, the first time
Saying this is it, I've had enough, 'cause like
We haven't seen each other in a month
When you, said you, needed space, what?
Then you come around again and say
Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change
Trust me, remember how that lasted for a day
I say, I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you

Oooh we called it off again last night
But Oooh, this time I'm telling you, I'm telling you
We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
To my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

Like ever...

I'm really gonna miss you picking fights
And me, falling for it screaming that I'm right
And you, will hide away and find your piece of mind, with some indie record
That's much cooler than mine

Oooh you called me up again tonight
But oooh, this time I'm telling you, I'm telling you
We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
To my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

I used to think, that we, were forever ever
And I used to say never say never

(Talks)

Huh, he calls me up and he's like, I still love you
And I'm like, I'm just, I mean this is exhausting, you know
We are never getting back together, like ever

(Sings)

We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together
You go talk to your friends talk
To my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

We, oooh, oooh, not back together, we
Oh, getting back together

You go talk to your friends talk
To my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

Muncie Music Festival!

Music Festival in Downtown Muncie

Happy Friday everyone!
Its going to be a great weekend,
topped off with an explosion of live music
tomorrow
in the downtown area!
Check it out!

Tomorrow evening is the fifth annual Muncie MusicFest!

I think you will be truly impressed to see Muncie's Downtown area come alive with Ball State students, local residents, and live music everywhere! This year's event will have 10 different stages - some outside and some inside bars and/or restaurants. The event organizers are boasting a total of 61 bands throughout the evening. I take that to mean that there is something for everyone!

Anyone can go - any age, but keep in mind, that some of the events are hosted in drinking environments and require an ID to verify that you are at least 21 years of age. There will be entry points where you pay the $10.00 entrance fee and the streets will be open to pedestrians, closed to vehicles, so you can then just wander from one venue to the next.

Click here to see the schedule of bands.

I'll be there, and I hope to see you, too!

Everybody Talks (Neon Trees)

Hey baby won't you look my way
I can be your new addiction
Hey baby what you gotta say?
All you're giving me is fiction

I'm a sorry sucker and this happens all the time
I found out that everybody talks
Everybody talks, everybody talks

It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chitchat
Take me to your love shack
Mamas always gotta backtrack
When everybody talks back

Hey honey you could be my drug
You could be my new prescription
Too much could be an overdose
All this trash talk make me itching

Oh my my shit
Everybody talks, everybody talks
Everybody talks too much

It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chitchat
Take me to your love shack
Mamas always gotta backtrack
When everybody talks back

Never thought I'd live to see the day
When everybody's words got in the way

Hey sugar show me all your love
All you're giving me is friction
Hey sugar what you gotta say?

It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chitchat
Take me to your love shack
Mamas always gotta backtrack
When everybody talks back

Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
Everybody talks... back

It started with a whisper (everybody talks, everybody talks)
And that was when I kissed her (everybody talks, everybody talks)

Everybody talks
Everybody talks... back

Farmer's Market

Tomorrow is the weekly Farmer's Market held at Minnetrista from 8 am to noon. It's a great place to see people, enjoy beautiful fall weather and fall produce, and stock up on some of your groceries. Local farmers come each Saturday and sell their goods including tomatoes, melons, corn, peppers, etc., and flowers, herbs, breads and much much more. The Minnetrista shops are also open so you can browse for unusual and local-specific gifts while you are there. This will only be happening for a few more weeks, so try to get out and get a taste of Muncie - both literally and figuratively - at the Minnetrista Farmer's Market tomorrow!

Coffee Shop and outdoor Cafe at the Farmer's Market

Cost: Free to get in - prices of goods vary
How to get there: take Riverside east until it comes to a "T" at Wheeling. Turn left onto Wheeling and then right at the first light. Minnetrista Blvd. curves around a bit and you will see the activities on your right.

Girls' Dance Club Country Line Dancing

Hey Ladies!
I hope you are ready for a
great time dancing on Tuesday evening!

This month we are doing American country line dancing. Although there are many different kinds of line dancing, what we are doing is referred to as “Country” or “Western” line dancing.

That is because the music genre used for these dances is “Country” or “Country and Western” and the style derives from the cowboy culture in the western parts of the United States.

In particular, we are learning the “Tush Push”, the “Electric Slide”, “Casanova Cowboy”, and “Chill Factor”. And just for the fun of it, we are throwing in the Macarena as well!

So come on out, girls, and
LET'S DANCE!

Wide Awake

I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake

I'm wide awake
Yeah, I was in the dark
I was falling hard
With an open heart
I'm wide awake
How did I read the stars so wrong?
I'm wide awake
And now it's clear to me
That everything you see
Ain't always what it seems
I'm wide awake
Yeah, I was dreaming for so long

[Pre-Chorus]
I wish I knew then
What I know now
Wouldn't dive in
Wouldn't bow down
Gravity hurts
You made it so sweet
'Til I woke up on
On the concrete

[Chorus]
Falling from cloud 9
Crashing from the high
I'm letting go tonight
Yeah, I'm falling from cloud 9

I'm wide awake
Not losing any sleep
I picked up every piece
And landed on my feet
I'm wide awake
Need nothing to complete myself, no

I'm wide awake
Yeah, I am born again
Out of the lion's den
I don't have to pretend
And it's too late
The story's over now, the end

[Pre-Chorus]
I wish I knew then
What I know now
Wouldn't dive in
Wouldn't bow down
Gravity hurts
You made it so sweet
'Til I woke up on
On the concrete

[Chorus]
Falling from cloud 9 (it was out of the blue)
I'm crashing from the high
I'm letting go tonight (yeah, I'm letting you go)
I'm falling from cloud 9

I'm wide awake
Thunder rumbling
Castles crumbling
I'm wide awake
I am trying to hold on
I'm wide awake
God knows that I tried
Seeing the bright side
I'm wide awake
But I'm not blind anymore...

I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake

[Chorus]
Yeah, I'm falling from cloud 9 (it was out of the blue)
I'm crashing from the high
You know I'm letting go tonight (yeah, I'm letting you go)
I'm falling from cloud 9

I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake

White River Clean-Up

White River Clean-Up

This post is too late for you to take part in this activity, but it is still worth posting because of the information about Muncie Parks (a more specific parks post will be coming in a few days).

Today the Muncie Delaware Clean and Beautiful and Stormwater Management organizations sponsored a clean-up event for the White River which runs right through Muncie. People gathered at Westside Park (located just south of the Ball State campus) and walked along the river picking up trash. It may not sound like a “fun” activity, but everything is more fun when shared with others, right? And this event encourages the fostering of friendships, both new and old, as people join efforts to help make our living environment more beautiful. It’s become a tradition in Muncie every fall for Ball State students and local Muncie residents to get together to help clear the area of summer debris.

The White River is actually in two sections that run through the central and southern parts of Indiana. In particular, Muncie and Indianapolis are two areas where you can find many activities along its banks.

File:White-River-Indiana.jpg

The two parts feed into the Wabash River which serves as the border boundary line between Indiana and Illinois for approximately the whole south half of the state of Indiana.

File:Wabashrivermap.png

In Muncie, you can walk along the White River on foot paths known as White River Greenway. You can also go canoeing and kayaking in The White River. West Side Park is a great place to enjoy the river’s beauty and tranquility with a picnic on a lazy fall day.

Even though the clean-up event is now over, I am grateful to all who turned out the participate in this endeavor and I hope many of you will be able to participate in next year’s event!
